Andrew Gilpin - Multiplicity

Andrew Gilpin - Multiplicity

Andrew's most recent recording, Multiplicity, features his original works almost exclusively, including the lovely Sonata for Flute and Piano, a rollicking setting of Robert Service's The Cremation of Sam McGee, and his major sacred work, Gloria. canEHdian.com's review states "Gilpin's unique new album is rich, satisfying, and is sure to please the ears of anyone who comes across it."

What a Machaya!

What a Machaya!

Fred Jacobowitz ("Ebony") is featured on this CD from the Maryland-based Machaya Klezmer Band. Klezmer is a style of playing as well as a type of music, and the Machaya Klezmer Band has captured that authentic sound of the early twentieth-century klezmorim (Jewish musicians) from the shtetls of Eastern Europe to the Lower East Side of New York - the spontaneity, the drive, the expressiveness, the freestyle arrangements.

The Andrew Gilpin Trio - And All That Jazz

And All That Jazz

Andrew's first recording with his jazz trio features Peter Telford on bass, Evan Ritchie on drums, and guest artist Leslie Allt on flute. This CD features Kaity, the first jazz tune Andrew wrote, plus Randall Thompson's Alleluia, adapted for trio from the famous choral work. Several pieces by Claude Bolling are also included, as well as the beautiful All Love by Chick Corea.
