Ebony & Ivory in StirlingOn Friday, May 2nd at 8:00 p.m., Ebony &
Ivory +2 performed at the Stirling Festival Theatre in Stirling,
Ontario (northwest of Belleville). The efforts of renowned
director/choreographer Caroline Smith, along with the amazing
work that countless volunteers have done over the years, have
created a strong artistic presence in this village. The theatre is
beautiful and the programming is vibrant and varied. Ebony &
Ivory were hardly into their first number when the audience
erupted in applause for their playing. Andrew and Fred
were joined by George Koller on Bass and Wilson
Laurencin on Drums. It was a wonderful concert. Thanks to
everyone at Stirling for such a warm reception. Andrew Gilpin, ComposerAndrew Gilpin ("Ivory") has
a catalogue of compositions which have attracted attention around
the world. His compositions, especially those for choir, have had
many performances, and he is now branching into television work.
Andrew is composing the score for a new series called
"Locked in the Past", which is in production and slated
for worldwide distribution. Ebony & Ivory Mailings DelayedThe signature Ebony & Ivory "Chocolate
Mailings" have been delayed because of new regulations at
the United States Postal Service. New processing equipment at the
post office has prevented us from sending out our chocolate mailing
this year. We are working with the Postal Service to find an
alternate solution. Gilpin Publishing Store Gets FaceliftThe Gilpin Publishing Store, which features Red
Hot!, the debut album of Ebony & Ivory, as well as
the many compositions of Andrew Gilpin, is being given a new
look and feel. In addition to CDs and sheet music, the new Gilpin
Store will also offer music downloads, similar to iTunes. We'll have
more in our next newsletter about the new Gilpin Store, which is
expected to go live at the beginning of June. Upcoming PerformancesJuly 7, 2008 -
