Happy New Year!Andrew, Fred and Robert
would like to wish all of you a Happy New Year. As the American
proverb says, "Hats off to the past and coats off to the
future!" Second Annual California Tour for Ebony & IvoryEbony & Ivory is pleased to
announce that plans are under way for a second California Tour, to
take place in the month of January 2007, one year from now. As a
special feature of this tour, Ebony & Ivory will be
travelling with the addition of bass and drums. The Quartet
will travel to northern California (Ukiah) and then head south to
San Diego (Bernardo Concerts Association), with many stops along the
way. The tour will also take the Quartet through Utah (Celebrity
Concerts.) More details to follow. Increased Airplay for Ebony & Ivory Debut CD Red Hot!Lise Avery, whose Jazz show Anything Goes!! (www.AnythingGoesRadio.com) is both LIVE and syndicated, has been
giving Red Hot!, the Ebony & Ivory debut CD, repeated airplay. According to Arbitron, Anything Goes!! is the most highly rated weekday program airing on WFDU-FM (in the NY
Metro) as well as the second most listened-to program on the entire station. Anything Goes!! with Lise Avery is broadcast
38 times weekly via its radio and web affiliates, and is produced in both commercial and commercial-free formats. Just recently,
Lise aired Lirico, America, Air Mail Special, and Tico Tico. Thanks to Lise for her
support and encouragement. Ebony & Ivory Interviewed for Radio Free SchoolIn early November, following Ebony &
Ivory's successful concert at McMaster University in Hamilton,
Ontario, Andrew, his mother Carol, and Fred were
interviewed by Beatrice Ekoko for
Radio Free School, an
all-volunteer show by, for and about Un-schoolers/Home Learners.
Beatrice's eldest daughter Evelyna was also present,
and contributed to the interview. Many topics were covered during the
discussion, including Andrew's self-taught approach to music,
his mother's unique views on the importance of the family and of
trusting children to pursue their interests in their own way, and
Fred's experiences at the Juilliard School of Music. A fascinating look at a different side of
