Ebony & Ivory Warmly Welcomed in Amsterdam, NY

On Sunday, September 25, Ebony & Ivory performed to an overflow crowd at the United Presbyterian Church in Amsterdam, NY, as part of the Amsterdam Area Community Concert Association's 2005-2006 Concert Season. The beautiful concert venue featured a restored Steinway concert grand piano from the early 1900s. The concert was the culmination of the long-time support and efforts of Phoebe and Alexander Boschi. Details of the concert were organized by Paul Gavry. The Ebony & Ivory debut CD Red Hot! was extremely popular and Andrew and Fred spent a half an hour after the concert greeting concertgoers and signing autographs.

Ebony & Ivory leave for their California tour immediately after playing two concerts in Canada, one at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and the other at Showplace Peterborough in Peterborough, Ontario.

The California Tour starts in Bakersfield, CA where the Duo will perform for the music students at Rosedale Middle School in the morning and then to a sold-out crowd at the Bakersfield Convention Center in the evening. After a day off to explore Bakersfield, Andrew and Fred are off to Hollywood to visit composer Mychael Danna and then head back north to Bishop, CA, taking in both Sequoia National Forest and Yosemite National Park along the way.

After the evening concert in Bishop, it's off to Indian Wells Valley Concert Association in Ridgecrest, CA, where the Duo will again perform for school children in the morning and present an evening concert in the Indian Wells Valley subscription series.

The tour ends in Baldwin City, KS, where the Duo will be presenting a Jazz Workshop for students at Baker University and then performing in the Artist and Lecture Series the same evening.

Back home, Ebony & Ivory will switch gears and get ready for their Christmas Concert at Georgia Southwestern University which will take them to Americus, GA for the end of November. Complete details on the tour in the December Newsletter.
