Ebony & Ivory appear on "Good Morning, Canada!"After an evening of taping twelve selections from their concert program for the CTV network at its studios in Kitchener, Ontario, Ebony & Ivory is slated for several appearances on Good Morning, Canada!, the national network show which is broadcast across Canada every Saturday and Sunday. Jeff Soltysiak, producer of the show, was impressed by the professionalism of the Duo, and said that the taping was the smoothest and most efficient of the many sessions he has supervised. Next Stop For Ebony & Ivory - Kirkland LakeSaturday, November 17th will find Ebony & Ivory in Kirkland Lake, Ontario for a concert sponsored by the Kirkland Lake Arts Council and arranged by Nancy Morris. Since the imminent birth of his baby son makes it impossible for David Veilleux to travel to Kirkland Lake for this concert, well-known clarinet virtuoso Joseph Orlowski will perform in his stead. Joseph is an auxiliary member of Ebony & Ivory, having performed previously with Andrew in Hilton Beach. Andrew and Joseph are looking forward to visiting Kirkland Lake and performing in the Arts Council's concert series. Ebony & Ivory looks forward to attending Southern Arts Exchange in Atlanta, Georgia (September 25-29, 2002)! Standing Ovation at Hanover CollegeA thoroughly entertained and satisfied audience leapt to its feet at the conclusion of the Ebony & Ivory concert at Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana on Saturday, October 20, 2001. The artists' visit to Hanover College and neighboring Madison was a delight from beginning to end. Walt and Elaine Morrill were gracious hosts and made Andrew and David feel completely at home. Hanover College is located on a picturesque campus, situated near the banks of the mighty Ohio river. It is an oasis of calm, obviously dedicated to providing the best facilities and environment for learning. An enthusiastic crowd in the Fitzgibbon Recital Hall of the Lynn Center for Fine Arts was treated to an evening of musical magic. Ebony & Ivory performed their signature program of music from all genres, including light classical, original compositions, ragtime classics and Benny Goodman. The audience responded exuberantly to each piece, but was especially impressed by Andrew's arrangement of "America" from West Side Story, which ended the first half. By the end of the concert, toes were tapping and bodies swaying to the beat as the Duo concluded the evening with their breathtaking performance of "Tico Tico." The audience would not let them go until they agreed to an encore, and what better song to leave in the minds and hearts of the audience than George Gershwin's classic, "Summertime"? Many concertgoers stayed to get autographs and talk to the artists, - Ebony & Ivory enjoys meeting and talking with audience members and always makes a point of staying to greet people after each performance - and all who attended took the warmth of a wonderful and satisfying musical evening with them.
